Event Report

Our event was rescheduled and suffered from this. Originally with 27 scheduled vehicles and attached to a lively Earth Day Festival - it was postponed due to rain. The rescheduled day was cloudy, light rain at times, and very windy. Many of the cars and some of the volunteer staff could not be there. Other chose that day not to show due to the weather.
I will say that the hearty souls that did come out - both the EV owners as well as the attendees were there for a reason. Many who came wanted to test drive or ride in cars and were thinking of purchasing within the year.
We were disappointed but felt it was worth showing up and to brighten our day a Tesla owner came to had purchased his car after test driving at our previous event. He took many people out and let two high school boys sit in his car - they were so thrilled.
I hope our next event for NDEW will have owners that purchased from this event. That will make the hours planning that didn't turn into a reality due to weather this year - worth it all. We can never give up; we make a difference!
No great photos as we could barely set up our tent due to the winds and trying to keep everything nailed down and working with a skeleton crew - we were happy to be there and make sure that the drivers had coffee to stay warm!

Event Description

Come to the   for the

 and join the &

at the DRIVE ELECTRIC  EVENT at the Whitney Bros. Parking Lot!

check out and test drive Electric Vehicles like these Chevy Bolts from last year's event!

Ask owners how much they love their cars, and listen to experts discuss the coming EV infrastructure to support EVs. NH electric drivers will share their stories about owning EVs in the Granite State!

We will also have dealerships - Nissan of Keene will be bringing the updated 2019 Nissan LEAF & LEAF+ to the event ready to take test drives! Fenton Family Dealerships is supporting this event as a sponsor - thank you for your generous donation!

As we learn about more cars that are not listed on the site we will be adding more information! Check back often!

I also just learned we will have a unique tandem e-bike with an owner willing to provide rides to those who want to feel an "assisted bike ride". He can offer these rides as long as the crowd isn't so large that it becomes dangerous. The trail is right by the parking lot - but please understand if we need to limit them due to crowd size.

We also have some unusual EVs this year - like an off-road golf cart that Michael Nerrie uses at his Nature Trail and Gardens in Alstead, NH. Come out and see his vehicle & his electric chain saw and other garden tools he uses that are powered by the sun's energy with his solar array on site! Learn how Michael harnesses the Sun's energy and saves dollars with his cart and tools. (He is also looking to purchase a riding e-lawn mower and trade in his people mover cart for a 4-wheel drive model- make sure to stop by and talk with him if you are interested in these interesting EVs and tools!)

Check out where to find this Drive Electric Event when at the Earth Day Festival. They are just next door to each other - follow the farmers to the Drive Electric Parking Lot and Signs! Note: visitors should not enter with their cars to the Parking Lot for EVs. Just the EVs will be parked there as space is limited. There are many places to park along Keene streets and in local parking lots within a few minutes from the festivities.

The Coop has provided a layout of the overall activities and marked "No park" zones as well as outlined a paid parking lot on their map - check it out for more information on the general festivities!

For EV owners that would like to drive a path that is about 10 miles long and has some faster mileage to show off the vehicle - please see link below for path that should avoid most of the congestion around the event area, gets you out to Routes 101 and 9 for a bit and then back to the event site!
