Electric vehicle owners show off their cars and explain EVs to the students and staff of Georgia Tech at the institute's annual Earth Day celebration.

Event Description

Georgia Tech's Earth Day celebration will once again host the Atlanta area EV owners group, the EV Club of the South, at Tech's huge annual event at the center of campus.  We'll have a selection of popular EVs on display, with their owners nearby to honestly answer any questions -- no salesmen!  Ask us for a copy of our single-page fact sheet that explains the basics of EVs and summarizes the EVs available in Georgia, their performance and price points.

Please note that while this is open to the public, WE DO NOT HAVE ROOM for any more EVs to display.  We also have an assortment of EVs, including of course multiple Teslas.  Note that the listing shown further down is not complete.  Here is the lineup of cars we'll have:

- Tesla Roadster (first gen car from now wildly popular EV maker)

- Tesla Model S, possibly with a little solar trailer

- Tesla Model 3 (two of them)

- Toyota Prius Prime

- BMW i3

- Nissan Leaf (2019, Gen2)

- Chrysler Pacifica minivan (PHEV)

Further we expect some manufacturers to bring their own cars.  In the past we've had GM/Chevy, Porsche and Tesla Inc. displaying at this event.

Even though you can't display your car, all are welcome to come check out the cars, educate curious students, and see the other Earth Day exhibits -- which are usually amazing, because it's Georgia Tech!  In addition to the usual campus food options nearby, the Earth Day festival itself often offers some special eating options.  You can find out more about the larger event at http://www.earthday.gatech.edu.

The event is happening RAIN OR SHINE!  And we're definitely going to get rained on, so bring an umbrella.

Please RSVP to attend this event using the button at the top of this page.  Again, we are already full on cars, so please don't expect to be exhibiting yours.

The listed address here is for Area 2 parking, the closest public parking for the event; Area 3 is just a little further west and is much larger.  The event is being held in the "Tech Green" at the center of campus, east of the parking lots, between the Student Center and the Clough building.  See http://map.gatech.edu for more guidance.
