Despite the threat of inclement weather, Saturday, April 10, 2021, turned out to be a great day for Drive Electric Earth Day - Knoxville. The rain held off, and temperatures were comfortable. The Knoxville Electric Vehicle Association, Ijams Nature Center, Drive Electric Tennessee, and East Tennessee Clean Fuels partnered for an event featuring 16 plug in electric vehicles. The Knoxville Electric Vehicle Association (KEVA), Ijams Nature Center, Drive Electric Tennessee (DET), and East Tennessee Clean Fuels are jointly hosting Knoxville's Drive Electric Earth Day event on Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 10 am to 3 pm in front of the Ijams Visitor Center.
Owners of a variety of fully electric & plug-in electric vehicles will bring their cars, answer questions, and share their enthusiasm for driving electric. Literature & information will be available, along with panel discussions on electric vehicle topics. Expected owner vehicles include: Tesla models 3, Y, S & X, Nissan LEAF, Chevy Bolt & Volt, Kia Niro, BMW i3 REx, Zero motorcycle, Toyota Prius Prime and RAV4 Prime, and Honda Ensight (conversion). Also on display will be an Audi eTron from Audi Knoxville and KUB's Nissan LEAF.
A series of short presentations/discussions will offer visitors a chance to learn more about specific topics such as EV benefits, tax rebates and purchase incentives, EVs coming in 2021-2022, batteries and charging, used EVs, and road trips.
