6 Things James May hates about his Tesla
James May’s (former Top Gear host) had his Tesla Model S for more than a year, so he’s had plenty of time to fall in love with it. But it’s not perfect – so join May in his bunker for a rundown of his dislikes in proper YouTuber style. It’s ok though, because he also loves 2,837 things about it.
What Pollutes More? Electric or Gas
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oVrIHcdxjA
Robert Llewellyn of Fully Charged narrated this short on what energy is used in making gasoline and electricity.
In the movie you will see that only one part of the electricity used to produce oil is the energy used to operate the hammerhead oil jack pump. On average each such pump uses 9,960 Kwh per month. Here in Ventura there are 3,800 active oil wells. 3,800 x 9,960 per month = 37,848,000 Kwh per month x 12 = 454,176,000 per year. That's 454 million Kwh per year in Ventura County to pump oil out of the ground. Enough to provide each household in Ventura County with 140 Kwh per month or to drive each EV registered in the county over 9,000 miles per month. (Not counting then energy to transport oil, refine it and deliver the finished product to the consumers fuel tank)
Electrified: The Current State of Electric Vehicles
Several EV owners come together to discuss how electric cars have evolved and where we currently are in the state of developing technology. The video covers issues and experiences related to charging, battery degradation, and range anxiety, along with detailed explanations of charging levels, types of EVs, and the future of hydrogen.
