Event Report

James Stephens, President of the Shasta Electric Vehicle Association, spoke that the event.  He highlighted the dramatic rise of EV sales in the US and pointed out that EVs are not just electric cars.  Bicycles, boats, trucks, airplanes, golf carts, busses and trains are all heading to the future of Electric Vehicles and the sustainable energy future.  There was even a demonstration of solar energy being used to charge an EV, showing the future of electric vehicle integration with alternative energy storage technology.

The most popular vehicle, receiving numerous comments, was the Jeep 4Xe Plug-in Hybrid.  Typical comment was, “I didn’t even know that Jeep made a Plug-in!”  The local Jeep dealer agent who attended the event commented on the fact that the new 4Xe Jeep has the same horsepower and torque as their largest Dodge-Hemi gas-powered engine available in the Jeep.

For our EV Association this was the best Drive Electric Earth Day event yet!
