Earth Day Expo at the REACH Museum
Saturday April 30 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.On April 22, fifty-two years ago, a bipartisan effort to draw attention to pollution created the first observation of Earth Day. Since 1970 this annual day of action has spread around the globe, bringing nations together to work on solutions to climate change and other threats to life on Earth. Tri-Cities community organizations are carrying on the great Earth Day tradition at the REACH Museum on Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. This Earth Day Expo focuses on ways that you can help reduce your carbon emissions and live more sustainably.
Energy Northwest, the Mid-Columbia Electric Vehicle Association and the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Transportation Alliance (EVITA) will host a Drive Electric Earth Day event in the REACH parking lot (1943 Columbia Park Trail.) Plug-in electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners will be available to discuss their experiences with and answer questions from those curious about driving electric. We’ll also be expecting electric bicycles, motorcycles, and more.
Benton-Franklin Master Gardeners will be there with help and advice on composting, Sustainable Tri-Cities will showcase ways you can get involved with environmental issues in our community, and Citizen’s Climate Lobby will demonstrate an educational tool that helps assess the effects of climate actions.
The electric vehicle show and outdoor activities are fee.
