Event Report

The Wild Earth Fest is annual (outdoor) event organized by Trailside Nature & Science Center, which is a Union County (NJ) interactive museum. This year, they have asked NJEVA to partner and organize EV show.
We have had 16 EVs prepared to line up in 2 shifts for the 6 hour event. We have also arranged for lunch for all EV volunteers.

Unfortunately, due to the rain, all activities were moved inside of the museum building. NJEVA had to call off all volunteers and only Stan Jaracz and Alex Brown stayed at the table indoors. We have setup our 2 EVs at high foot traffic area in front of the building along with our new EVA flag. The flag was soaked at the end of the event. It really rained a lot.
However, the event was unusually impactful as we were approached by lots of people, given out fliers, swag and answered many questions from the audience.
The Trailside Nature & Science Center was very delighted and already pinned a date for the next year and counts with NJEVA.

Event Description

UPDATE on 4/29/2023: Due to the rain, the Earth Day event will be moved indoors into the Trailside Building. Obviously, the EV display has to be cancelled. We shall have a table inside. You are welcome to stop by and say high. Please consider registering for another event next week.

Original post:
New Jersey Electric Vehicle Association has been invited to show off EVs at the Wild Earth Fest at the Trailside Nature & Science Center in Mountainside, NJ. The show is expected to attract over 3000 visitors from the Union county. Wild Earth Fest is an educational event to promote awareness  and  appreciation  of  global  and  local  conservation  issues, including energy, recycling, land and wildlife conservation and pollution.  Wild Earth Fest will inform visitors about these issues through displays, talks, demonstrations and fun family activities.

Although the event starts at 11 AM, we are asked to setup by 10:30 the latest. As the duration of the event is over 6 hours, we are suggesting 2 shifts. You can choose, any or both:
10:30 AM - 2 PM
1:30 PM - 5 PM

We are looking for 5-10 plugin electric vehicles at all times. When you register, please mention in the comment, which shift are you committing to.
In appreciation to your time, food will be provided to all EV owners who come for at least 3 hours and actively participate by engaging visitors in conversation on their experience driving electric. Bring reusable water bottle, sun screen and if you have T-shirt with an EVA logo, make sure you are wearing it.
