Event Report

This was the Monadnock Sustainability Hub's (approx.) 11th Drive Electric event, and the most successful. We counted a min. of 299 visitors, and had 19 EVs on display, representing the widest array of vehicle types since we started presenting Drive Es. 3 different local dealerships participated, bringing 6 different EVs (5 new and one used), and 13 private EV owners shared their vehicles.

The vehicle variety included all Tesla models, Chevy Bolts and a Volt, a Ford Mustang Mach-E, a VW ID.4, Kias, a Ford F1-150 Lightning, a Rivian R1T, and others.

We presented a series of 5 minute mini-talks on popular topics (home charging, EV purchase incentives etc.) but did not effectively get the word out so people were aware and attended.

Visitors were of all ages. People brought babies in strollers and dogs on leashes. It was a party atmosphere, and part of a larger city event called Earth Fest, sponsored by the Monadnock Food Co-op, with whom we have partnered for several important collaborations - inc. bringing the first public EV fast chargers to the region (launch possible late this year), adjacent to our event site.

Most visitors walked around the whole Drive E event area and chatted with EV owners and dealers, and some also visited our tabling area where we provided various Drive E-related literature and information about our non-profit, whose work is centered on cutting carbon emissions from our part of NH.

Event Description

Come visit our Expo to see 12+ different electric vehicles (EVs), representing 9 different auto makers and ranging from sub-compact to sedan, SUV, truck and maybe even a van! 10+ EV owners will be present to share their knowledge and enthusiasm, and answer your questions. Many owners are offering test rides/drives. Several area EV dealers will share models both new and used (according to availability on the day).

We present a series of 5 minute mini-talks: 12:30pm Home charging; 1pm Public charging; 1:30pm Co-op chargers are coming; 2pm Long road trips with an EV; 2:30pm Electric police vehicles; 3pm Financial incentives to reduce EV costs.

There will be informational literature to pick-up, and a free drawing for great prizes including meals for 2 at the Chesterfield Inn and Royal Spice Indian Restaurant, and a Toadstool Bookshop gift card.

This expo occurs as part of Earth Day celebrations, and Earth Fest hosted by the Monadnock Food Co-op, the future site of SW New Hampshire's first public EV fast chargers!
