Event Report
NYS Assemblymember Lea Webb, Mayor of Ithaca, ED of Cornell Cooperative Extension welcomed everyone to the downtown Ithaca Commons to the free Earth Day Festival, featuring 32 organizations including Ithaca Carshare's EV and Syracuse Clean Cities . Electric Vehicles were featured in the center of the Commons.
We hooked up our Ford Lightning pickup to power the local WRFI radio station, which played great music and served as an Emcee platform. And we plugged in an induction cooktop stove and handed out free chili to passersby
Great attendance - well over 1,000 people but we didn't manage to do a drone count
The buzz was great, so many questions about EVs, MANY people gawking at the lightning frunk and asking what happened to the engine - good conversation starter.
photo by: Holly Payne Drawing in EV visitors using free chili that we cooked off an induction cooktop, plugged into a Ford Lightning F150. (We also used the Lightning to power the local radio station in the blue tent just behind). Totally fun. We had over 1,000 visitors! |
