Event Report
This was the first event for our newly-developed Drive Electric Memphis Chapter. We partnered with the Mid-South EV Club and Memphis Tesla Club to help get information out about the event and solicit volunteers, of which there were 19.- BMW i4

Event Description
CELEBRATE WHAT'S GREAT ABOUT GOING GREEN IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Earth Day is officially celebrated across the world every year on April 22, but we treat every day like Earth Day at Shelby Farms Park! Sustainability is at the heart of all we do ⏤ from providing electric vehicle charging stations with solar panels, to landscaping with native plants and removing invasive species from Park forests, to heating and cooling indoor spaces with a geothermal system.
Celebrate with us at the Earth Day Festival presented by International Paper! You “herd” it here first! You will not want to miss our Park mascot, Bob the Buffalo, leading the way through our Earth Day celebrations from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, April 20. Adults and kids alike will have opportunities to experience, explore, and learn different ways of going green in Memphis!
EXPLORE Kick the festivities off with our Fun Run around Hyde Lake at 10 a.m. We’ll also have a kid’s zone with inflatables and lots of yard games. Get a preview of the 2024 Get Outside! Fitness program with free classes on the Visitor Center lawn. Plus, we’ll have plenty of music and food trucks for you to enjoy throughout the Festival!
LEARN Join us for “booth chats” throughout the day. We will have more than 25 organizations set up to discuss their approaches to sustainability. They are planning fun ways to share their mission and how they make the earth a better place. Each booth will have a five minute chat at the Event Stage, so check the schedule to make sure you don’t miss anything!

EXPERIENCE Recreation activities will be open so you can rent a bike, kayak, or paddleboard to enjoy the Park's trails and lakes!

Family-friendly Earth Day Fun Run at 10 a.m.
Live DJ from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. + Live Music from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Goat Yoga with 901 Goats at 1 p.m., 2:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m.
Kid’s Zone with inflatables, yard games and the YMCA “Y on the Fly”
Learning Stations + Booths with interactive opportunities, activities, & talks focused on sustainability
