Event Report

Salt River Project (SRP), DRIVE Electric Arizona and Valley of the Sun Electric Vehicle Association partnered together to host this ride and drive event for the ages! Thank you to SRP for hosting at their Project Administration Building in Tempe.

Prior to the event kick-off, Arizona Family Channel 3 featured a live interview with Nick Quinones of SRP and Peter Culin of DRIVE Electric Arizona. ABC 15 also sent reporters to record several bits for use on their news broadcasts. Additional advance articles were published by the Arizona Republic and Daily Independent, as well as a live broadcast at Fox 10 Studios in downtown Phoenix the morning prior.

Vehicles that were offered for ride and drive:
Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Ford Mustang Mach-e, Ford F-150 Lightning, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Kia EV9, Lucid Air, Nissan Ariya,  Polestar 2, Rivian R1S, Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y.

The most popular vehicles in terms of number of drives were the Cadillac Lyriq and Rivian R1S.

Static vehicles for display included:
BMW i4, Chevrolet Bolt, Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Ford F-150 Lightning, including one towing a Polaris RZR, Ford Mustang Mach-e, Lucid Air, Rivian R1S, Rivian R1T, Tesla Model 3, and Tesla Model S Plaid.

FREE EVENT!

SRP, Valley of the Sun Electric Vehicle AssociationDRIVE Electric Arizona and City of Phoenix Office of Sustainability are proud to bring you an electrifying ride and drive experience!

Join us on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 8am to 12pm, and have your chance to get sit in, ride in, or even drive an electric vehicle!  Presented to you by vehicle owners, this is your opportunity to learn about everything an electric vehicle has to offer. In addition to the environmental benefits of driving electric, the experience of driving an EV is unlike any other: exhilarating and fun!

Take this opportunity for FREE to RIDE or DRIVE in many different EV models on a 2.8 mile route around the local area – from behind the wheel!

This will be YOUR CHANCE to get to experience everything that is great about driving electric vehicles.

In order to drive a vehicle, you must provide a valid driver’s license and sign an electronic waiver. Any passengers would also be required to sign the waiver. There are no exceptions.

We look forward to seeing you on the day of the event!

  • as a participant (vehicle owner) to display or offer your vehicle for test drives,
  • as a volunteer to help with event logistics,
  • as an attendee to RIDE or DRIVE a vehicle

Registration does not guarantee a ride or a drive in any vehicle.
