Event Report

The inaugural EV Day in Compton, a collaborative effort between Plug In America, EVHybridNoire, the Compton Entertainment Chamber of Commerce, and iTranserve Inc, was an undeniable success, despite challenges such as high winds and a forecast predicting rain throughout the day. The numbers vividly showcase our achievement in delivering a top-tier experience to our anticipated 75 participants. With 60 sign-ups, we reached an impressive 80% success rate for our very first event!

Achieving nearly 100% registration for EV Day in Compton underscores the robust community interest and engagement in electric vehicles. This success serves as a testament to the effectiveness of our outreach efforts and mirrors the growing enthusiasm for sustainable transportation options. Congratulations on the triumphant event turnout, and let us persist in championing the adoption of electric vehicles within the community!

As we address unforeseen challenges for future events, our collective focus remains on rectifying issues such as vendor counts, equipment setup challenges, and increasing attendee numbers to meet or surpass expectations. Despite our events hurdles, we view them as opportunities to enhance tomorrow's events even further.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Compton City District 3 Councilman Jonathan Bowers, for gracing us with his presence, as well as to District 4 Councilwoman Mayor pro tem Lillie P. Darden’s liaison Dean Jones, for their unwavering support and participation.

Lastly, we eagerly anticipate providing ongoing support for future events, including the upcoming event in September 2024.

Event Description

This event will exhibit electric vehicles, electric vehicle charging infrastructure to an underserved community, Compton, California. There will be opportunities for general EV education as well as education about Federal, State and private incentives for EV adoption. A Ride and Drive Experience that will showcase a variety of electric vehicles from Chevy Bolts, Tesla's, and BMW's. Special guest from EvHybridnoire, Plug In America, and the City of Compton and the Compton Entertainment Chamber of Commerce.
