Event Report

The Electrify Your Life: At Home and on the Road event had a standing-room-only crowd of 30 in a small conference room at the Morro Bay Library. Craig Graugnard opened the event with a presentation on home electrification, including descriptions of the electric appliances that can replace our methane powered units. He also covered the many tax credit, rebate and incentive programs available and the resources available to help us navigate the often complex process of home electrification. Barry Rands then followed with a talk about electric vehicles, covering both the benefits of driving electric and also the concerns that are keeping people from making the transition from gasoline vehicles. The audience was fully engaged, asking many questions over the hour-long indoor portion of the event. The second hour provided the audience opportunity to visit the information tables of Resilient SLO, th Tri-County Energy Network, and Citizens' Climate Education and the EV showcase in the parking lot, hosted by the Green Transportation program of the SLO Climate Coalition.
