This EV 101 was presented at the Bayport/Bluepoint Library on Long Island in Suffolk County. Presented by Drive Electric Long Island Education and Outreach Coordinator Beth Fiteni, this presentation covered the history of EVs, the basics of EVs and EV charging, available financial incentives and some of the myths about electric vehicles.Beth, who drives a BMW i3, was joined by EV owners Kevin Bozeat, who drives a Tesla Model, and Jonathan Duerden who drives a Kia EV 6. After the presentation, they held an EV Showcase with their cars and answered questions about what it's like to drive an EV.
Pre and post surveys of participants of the event showed significant increased familiarity with EVs, EV charging and EV incentives, as well as an increased likelihood to test drive an EV.
