Event Report

People either love or hate the Cybertruck, but it was the only one I saw going out for test drives. Not included above, I also feature PEV's at this EVent.

Thanks to sponsor Corbin Lisabett, the Ioniq Guy, for providing vouchers to our food vendor to exhibitors and volunteers. And for bringing his Ioniq 6 - I've never had one of those before.

There were:

  • 15 volunteers across three shifts: Set Up, During, and Break Down
  • 48 exhibitors including dealerships, owners, PEV people, relevant organizations, and our food vendor.
  • 29 cars and trucks showcased
    • Of those, 5 vehicles offered ride-alongs and 9 offered test drives. 8 were dealership vehicles (Kia, Chevy, Hyundai and Tesla) and all dealership vehicles offered test drives. The Cybertruck seemed to be the most popular vehicle to be test driven. I did not bother with signups for test rides/drives as it has never been a capacity issue in the past, and it was not this time either.
    • Unfortunately, the only vehicle I saw going out for test drives, and the only survey respondent who indicated they actually gave test drives/rides, was the Cybertruck. I would LOVE to know how to encourage more test rides/drives since I only see a few of them happening in general.
  • At least 15 unicycles, skateboards and OneWheels courtesy of Boston PEV
  • 3 e-bikes
  • 1 scooter (belongs to a City council member, actually)
  • A few people test rode bikes and OneWheels

A LOT of networking went on between exhibitors, and they seemed pretty happy. Unfortunately, I suspect due to the weather (extremely blustery, gusty, and shower-y -- several tents were damaged) and possibly the fact that it was at the tail end of school vacation week, exhibitors actually outnumbered visitors - of which we had about 30 (as opposed to 100+ last year).

The EVent was supposed to run from 1-4PM but we wound up breaking down shortly after 3 since visitors were not even trickling in, the wind had picked up significantly, and it was starting to rain again.

Event Description

NOTE TO EXHIBITORS: We are ALL SET on showcase vehicles! Registrations are now CLOSED. Unless you have something particularly rare or unique, such as a conversion, your registration will be declined. Please don't take this personally; with apologies, this is to avoid excess duplication. You may certainly bring your vehicle and attend the EVent to speak with visitors, however, I may not have space to accommodate your vehicle in the main lot with the others (I do have limited overflow). Thank you.

Thinking of learning more about EV's? Then register to "attend" as a visitor.

You kick gas! Are you curious about electric vehicles (EVs)? Want to check them out in person? Then this is the event for you! Local EV dealerships and car owners, as well as bicycle shops and electric bike/scooter owners, will be showcasing their rides. Bring a helmet! Battery-powered outdoor equipment will also be featured. Come ride or drive with us!

Food will be available for purchase and beverages provided. Bring your reusable water bottle!

Please sign up, or feel free to email/call/text Stacy with any questions: [email protected], (978) 333-0971

Additional details and a final list of showcase vehicles will be added later this week.

EV and PEV (Personal Electric Vehicle) Owners: We are full up. All I need are some additional helmets to lend out. Thank you for your interest.
