Event Report
Through the intense work by SMUD staff, ECOS volunteers and SacEV volunteers, the 2025 ECOS Earth Day and EV event was terrific. Early morning sprinkles and an overcast day still brought out the community to engage with 25 EV owners and 12 dealer test drive vehicles. SacEV volunteers engaged in over 500 conversations. Ninety test drives with over ten different EV models provided a great education to the Sacramento regional community.

Event Description
There are well over 110,000 EVs in the Sacramento region, in fact one of every 4 cars sold last year was an electric vehicle. Here's the gathering of EV families and experts.
If you are EV Curious, this is the EVent for you. Check out 20 different EVs and e-motorcycles and talk with their owners to find out about the electric driving experience. Not only are EVs a kick to drive, but you'll discover how they are charged at home or on the road and the savings resulting from lower fuel and maintenance costs. Then, take a test drive of an EV on site along with an EV owner to experience electric driving first hand.
If you are an EV owner, register as a participant with your EV so you can share your family's electric driving experience.
This is a full size earth day event. EVs at Sacramento Earth Day is part of the largest Earth Day celebration in the Sacramento region. In addition to the electric cars, you'll find local art and a variety of fun activities to enjoy for the whole family, including live music, interactive educational games, a children’s area and 150 exhibitors and vendors.
