Event Report

Cupertino 2025 Earth Day  (DEEM event 4666)

Our Electric Vehicle Association - Silicon Valley Chapter had an information booth and several electric vehicles on display at the Cupertino Earth Day event on Saturday April 5, 2025.  We were one of over 70 exhibitors at this annual event that typically draws up to 5,000 attendees to a park adjacent to the city library.

We gave small toy cars away to children, which was very popular at this family oriented event.

Our display area was adjacent to a couple of large solar powered BEAM EV charging stations at the edge of the event space which were used to charge two of the electric vehicles we brought.

We had 11 electric vehicles on display.  One of them was a Tesla Cybertruck provided by the Sunnyvale Tesla store.  The remaining EVs were personal vehicles with their owners available to answer any questions that the attendees had.

The owner of the Rivian electric pickup truck also brought his solar trailer which was used to power the sound system at the entertainment stage.

There is a link below to a video of our EV display and information booth showing the toy cars we gave away.  The name of the video file is:  EAASV-EV-display.mp4

Two of the EV owners had to leave early and two other EVs took their place after the video was taken.  One of them was a Lotus Elise EV conversion while the other one was a BMW I4 EV.  These two EVs are not in the video, however they are shown in some photos at the link below.

There is also a video of the Solar trailer that powered the sound stage along with a close up photo of that trailer.  The Rivian R1T owner towed the folding Solar Trailer from Mountain View to the event.

The event was a huge success and we gave away a lot of toy cars and had many pleasant conversations with the attendees answering their questions about EVs and charging.

Here is a list of the 11 EVs we had on display.

1. 1953 Studebaker Champion EV Conversion by EAASV Vice President George Stuckert
2. 2024 Volkswagen ID.4
3. 2025 Tesla Cybertruck provided by the Sunnyvale Tesla store
