Event Report
Our Electric Vehicle Showcase event at Earth Day Omaha (EDO)
at Elmwood Park on Saturday, April 26th was met with nice weather. We had 19 plug-in electric vehicles plus several hybrid vehicles. In addition to 12 private
owners, there were four dealers displaying new vehicles. It was fortunate we had
some older EVs on display with their owners because many visitors asked about
the affordability and wisdom of buying a used EV.
Attendance was much
better than last year when turnout was affected by severe weather.
Our booth next to the EV
display provided an excellent selection of handouts providing EV information.
Despite sending out a
press release about our event, there was little media coverage of Earth Day
Omaha.
Here is a list of the plug-in Electric Vehicles at our Earth Day Omaha display:

This year the battery-electric Omaha Metro bus and Heartland B-Cycle electric bikes were displayed on the east side of the park freeing up space for our display parking lot.
More than 300 people visited our information booth and the display. The VW ID.BUZZ microbus was parked near our booth and was a big draw to the display!
Thanks to our volunteers who helped organize and supervise making it a very successful and educational event. And a big thanks to the dealers and private owners who came out to display their electric vehicles.

Last Year's Earth Day Event: We had 23 electric vehicles plus an Omaha Transit battery-electric bus. In addition to many private owners, we had five dealers display new vehicles.
The map below shows the location of our Electric Vehicle display. Attendees displaying vehicles should arrive at the display site between 10:00 and 10:30 AM. It's recommended that EVs reach the site via 67th & Pacific. From that intersection go north on Elmwood Park Road to the display parking lot.
Remember, no
test drives are allowed at our Earth Day Omaha event. Elmwood Park is not a safe place
for test drives, especially with so many pedestrians attending the Earth Day
event.
