Event Report

First Selectman, Bill Gerber, officially welcomed everyone and read our town Land Acknowledgement.  Darlene Kascak, from The Institute American Indian Studies, gave a presentation on Two-Eyed Seeing.  State Senator Tony Hwang, State Reps Cristin McCarthy Vahey, Jenn Leeper & Sarah Keitt held an Environmental Legislator Forum.  Students from Burr Elementary provided a Trashy Fashions show and one of five teams going to the Odyssey of the Mind World Championship competition performed their skit.  Several tables by local civic organizations as well as UI to promote EVSE infrastructure were on had, as was Proof Pizza truck (which sold out!) and Sound Coffee, as well as Sustainable Warde as well as the Eco Club from FLHS which held very successful bake sale fundraisers.  We held our ReSale at a separate location.  Had 6 cars including a Polestar 3, several Tesla models, Hyundai Ioniq, new town Police Bronco and others.  Also popular with the younger crows were the Fire Safety trailer and the DPW touch-a-truck.
Partnered with the Y for their National Healthy Kids Day, the event was mainly young families.  Many smiles through the drizzle all day!

Burr Elementary students parade through Fairfield's Earth Day Celebration that was chased indoors due to inclement weather. This didn't dampen the spirits of all who participated as you can see by the smiles.
