Event Report
The most popular part of the display seemed to be the five electric pickups that we placed together near the entrance: two Ford F-150 Lightnings, a Rivian R1T, a Chevy Silverado EV, and a Tesla Cybertruck. The Rivian drew quite a bit of attention for its recent experience surviving Hurricane Helene, and for owner Michael Cusick's "Shower Box" portable shower:

But Michael's wasn't the only vehicle demonstrating storm resilience. Several attendees showcased their vehicles' V2L capability, including one of the F-150s running an electric chain saw and a Kia EV9 running cooking gear, among others.
A white over blue VW ID.Buzz and a deep blue Dodge Charger drew quite a bit of admiration from the retro crowd. The Charger had a particularly funny entrance - with its synthesized V8 soundtrack burbling like a muscle car, parking volunteers were ready to chase it away to protect the limited spaces the organizers had granted us. We all got big smiles when we realized it was an EV.

Event Description

As part of the 2025 Hendo Earth Fest, the Blue Ridge EV Club will be holding an electric vehicle show. Spectators will be able to see a variety of electric vehicles, as detailed in the list below. Experienced EV drivers will be on hand to discuss all aspects of EV ownership. Learn about charging, road trips, costs, and the joy of never having to clean oil drippings off of your garage floor. ;-)
If you are an EV owner/driver/dealer, please consider registering to display your vehicle and/or answer questions and discuss the EV experience with festival goers. Because space is limited to 25 vehicles, we will be curating the vehicles selected for display; they won't automatically show up in the list below when you register. Display vehicles should arrive by 9:00am and remain on-site until 3:00pm. We welcome offers of any vehicle with a plug (PHEV or BEV, in other words). Discontinued models are welcome, as a healthy used car market is important for widespread EV adoption. While we will only be able to display one of each model, please consider registering your car even if it's a duplicate, to provide backups in the event of cancellations.
