Event Report
What a great line up we had at this years Earth Day in Bishop Ca Pioneer Park on
April 12th 2025.
Lina white Volvo EX30 sedan (brand new!),
Kay red Mustang Mach-E sedan,
Bruce turquoise Rivian R1T truck,
Ron white Ford F-150 Lightening truck, and
Sharon & Howard pearl blue Nissan Leaf* 2017 classic coup.
*This Leaf has a brand new battery courtesy of Nissan Reno who replaced it free of charge under warranty. This new warranty battery nearly doubled the range from when the car was brand new so we were able to drive all the way from Bridgeport to Bishop California without charging
The exhibit was well attended and many stopped to talk with our owners. To quote new member Lina Martensson:
“And what a fun event today! Thanks for getting it all set up. I really felt like I was able to get a bunch of people to think a bit differently about EVs and remove some obstacles, it felt really productive. It was neat to do it so soon after I got the car as well, so that I'm right in that period where my mindset is really starting to shift.”
Paiute Spring Fair and Earth Day April 13th 2025
The 2nd day of Eastern Sierra Electric Vehicle Event in front of the Paiute cultural Center was a completely different vibe. We had steady traffic of curious visitors where we were able to talk about the advantages of driving electric.
Event organizer, Sage Neely had reserved with orange traffic cones where only electric vehicles were permitted to park. We elected to place our booth at the same spot. The day was cooler and we were set up on a shady grass covered spot.
There was a great band playing most of the day and its music wafted over to us. The tribal organizers invited all exhibitors to their hospitality room where all sorts of food and beverages were offered. Their hospitality was very much appreciated
Across from us was another organization promoting electric cars called “Driving Clean”. They were inviting people to drive electric cars but the vehicles were stationed off site at a gas station. This organization finds ways for low the income population to buy EV’s by way of grants and financing. Next year I think we should work with them and the organizers to see if we can have an accessible site to offer EV ride and drives. The site next to us is an EVA sponsor Southern California Edison so we were in good Company. Dignitary Miss California Stopped by to see our EVs
We were blessed by the end of the day by member Lynn Bolton EVA member, coming from another event to help us take down our display. We think that this is a venue that we would like to return to show at again.
