Event Report
The weather forecast for the entire day was 100% rain and thunderstorms. Although we considered canceling the event, we went ahead and the rain held off. However, the forecast caused two registered drivers to drop out and attendance by the public was severely diminished.
In addition to the vehicle display we presented mini-talks and Q&A sessions on the topics below. They were well-attended, especially the one about taking a long trip in an EV.
- EV Charging: What, where & how
- Financial Incentives: For EVs & chargers

- Climate Change: Drive electric to reduce oil demand
- Long Road Trips: Totally doable!
Premier Sponsor was Blue Whale EV, a regional EV infrastructure company.
Another sponsor was Blink Charging.
Sierra Club, Maryland Chapter, Anne Arundel Group, also sponsored.
The City of Annapolis came in as a partner, bringing one of its all-electric transit buses, micro-mobility electric vehicles, bicycles and scooters, and dedicated staff.

Event Description

The show is designed to showcase the value of electric vehicles to the pocketbook, human health, and the environment. This is a free event.
The show will feature exhibits, mini-talks and Q&A sessions, and displays of many types of EVs by people who are currently driving electric. These drivers are excited to share their driving experiences with members of the public, one-on-one. And yes, there will be music! Want to dance the Electric Slide wit us?
The City of Annapolis’ participation will include one of its new electric transit buses. The public will be offered the opportunity to ride in this clean, quiet mode of transportation. City officials will also display its three-wheeler electric bicycles, its electric GEM carts and other educational material.
Environmental organizations have been invited to participate due EVs’ positive effect on the environment – as driving electric is one of the best things people can do to mitigate the effects of climate change. Fossil fueled vehicle exhaust accounts for about 28% of total US greenhouse gas emissions. The transportation sector is the largest contributor of US greenhouse gas emissions with light-duty vehicles (like cars and light trucks) contributing 57% of those emissions.
Among the topics to be covered in the mini-talks and Q&A sessions are:
12:30pm: EV Charging - What, Where, & How
1pm: Financial Incentives - For EVs and Chargers
1:30pm: Cost of Ownership - Yes, EVs cost less over time
2pm: Climate Change - Drive electric to reduce oil demand
2:30pm: Long Road Trips - Totally doable!
Founded in 1980, EVADC is an organization of electric vehicle owners, educators and enthusiasts dedicated to promoting the use of EVs as an environmental and energy benefit to society. It holds regular monthly meetings, public displays, car shows and tech sessions to exchange information and advocate for driving electric.
