Event Report

The University of Memphis hosted a Campus EV Ride Event organized by the Center for Transportation Innovation, Education & Research (CTIER). The event was led by Dr. Sabyasachee Mishra, Professor of Civil Engineering and Director of CTIER, and Dr. Subhash Jha, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering.

The event was supported by Drive Electric Memphis, RIVIAN Mid-South EV Club, and Middle West Tennessee Clean Fuels, whose participation was instrumental in its success. We would also like to acknowledge the volunteers, university staff, and student organizations that contributed to a smooth and engaging experience for all attendees.

Attendees had the chance to view and ride in a variety of electric vehicles, including models from Rivian, Tesla, BMW, and Ford. The Rivian R1T pickup truck drew significant interest for its size and innovative features, making it one of the most talked-about vehicles at the event.

The event featured no formal speakers but focused on one-on-one engagement, allowing participants to speak directly with EV owners and experts.

The event highlighted the University’s commitment to sustainable transportation and provided a valuable hands-on learning experience about EV technology.
