Event Report

SLO Earthfest hosted our EV Expo for the second year, but in a new, larger location at Santa Rosa Park in San Luis Obispo. Five dealers from Lucid, Porsche, Tesla, Hyundai, and Toyota brought a total of 11 cars for test drives. The larger space allowed us to showcase 14 cars, with 5 of them providing power to sound stages and food services. The City of SLO provided two F-150s to power the main stage and one food truck, while two Kia EV9s and an EV6 ran a smaller stage, an induction hot plate, and most importantly, the Firestone beer cooler!

In addition to electric cars, Wally's Bicycle Works brought several e-bikes for test rides and Essential Mobility showcased their electric scooters and wheelchairs, providing free use of their products for attendees with disabilities.

The DEEM event was organized and managed by the Green Transportation team of the SLO Climate Coalition. Funding for the EV Expo came from Electrify America in partnership with Ecology Action; the Driving Clean Assistance Program in partnership with the Community Environmental Council; Central Coast Clean Cities Coalition; and the SLO County APCD.

Event Description

Join us at the SLO Earth Fest in Santa Rosa Park in the beautiful City of San Luis Obispo. Check out the wide variety of electric cars that are now available in both the new and used car markets, talk to their owners, test drive the new 2026 crop of electric cars from Lucid, Porsche, Kia, Hyundai, Chevy, Toyota, and more. Stop by our booth and learn how affordable EVs can be!  The Earth Fest will also have live music, a kid's zone, and a variety of activities for the whole family.

If you are an EV owner, we need your help! Please consider showcasing your EV at the event and talk to attendees about your drive electric experience. And if you have an EV that can serve as a power station (120 or 240 outlets) we need EVs that can power the food trucks, main stage, and beer garden refrigeration. You will be helping us make our event all electric!

The first 50 test drivers will get a $20 Car Detailing discount plus a chance to win a complete interior/exterior detailing at Detail for Less in SLO.
