Earth Day in Santa Barbara is a two-day event that draws over 25,000 participants to celebrate the Earth and learn how personal and community changes are possible and can benefit everyone. Climate change is an ongoing crisis affecting communities worldwide. We must work together to mitigate the impact of today and provide for the future.
This is one of the longest-running Earth Day celebrations and highlights climate issues, both local and global, and the companies and organizations that put sustainability front and center.
Event participants will hear from speakers about options, interact with sustainable vendors, and visit educational booths from local government programs and NGOs.
One major draw of the event is the Green Car Show, which features several elements, including ride-and-drive opportunities in electric vehicles and static displays of various makes, models, and types of electric cars, trucks, and equipment.
Also included is the Owners' Corner, where local EV owners showcase their personal electric vehicles and discuss how owning, operating, and enjoying their EVs have changed their lives for the better.
Locally, EV adoption is continuing to grow. In the tri-counties, there are over 70,000 registered zero-emission vehicles, and the number continues to grow each day. Regardless of what some elected officials say, buying or leasing an electric vehicle will lower operating costs, improve air quality, and help mitigate climate change.
