Event Report

It was another chilly April day in Massachusetts as we set up for this EVent. The food provided by the vendors was excellent, and for the first time, I was able to play my EV playlist!  A resident who called tipped me off to the Tesla Boombox feature, so I didn't have to try to pair my cell phone with a finicky borrowed speaker.  Salem Access Television was also on hand, interviewing drivers, attending businesses, and nonprofits.

The Cybertruck is always popular, and one of the few vehicles to go out for test drives. We also had a Registered LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) for the first time. Stihl brought their electric equipment, and Yarbo brought an autonomous yard robot that could function as a lawnmower and snowblower. My National Grid person's son (15) has his own landscaping company and brought his electric equipment as well. We had a range of vehicles in all sizes and price ranges, from PHEVs (plug in hybrids) to Rivians. Lots of e-motos showed up. Exhibitors had a great time, but we only had about 30 visitors overall, despite more heavily promoting the EVent this year. According to my feedback forms, most exhibitiors would prefer the EVent to be in May or June, when we have the chance of better weather and hopefully, increased attendance.

EV Owners wishing to register, please note: Check the list of registered vehicles to see if we already have one or more of your make/model. If that's the case, priority may be given to owners offering rides/test drives. Due to space issues, if we have an overabundance of a particular model, you may be directed to park in the visitor lot, but we still welcome you to enthusiastically talk about your EV with visitors, and your nametag will reflect that.
