Event Report
Thanks to our sponsor, Soclusion; our guest speaker, Ms Niani Brown; our solar expert/owner of Village Solar, Alex Rolland; our EVA-OH Team Leader in Dayton, Rick Liston; and to the coordinating efforts of Erynn Hayes, AgriScience teacher at Trotwood-Madison High School. We are also grateful to our EVA-OH volunteers who brought their EVs to share with the students, answer questions and share reasons for driving electric. This is our fifth year participating in Trotwood-Madison's Annual Earth Day event with AgriScience teacher, Erynn Hayes. 250 Science students gave their attention to our guest speaker, Ms Niani Brown, Community Engagement Specialist with the City of Dayton's Sustainability Office. Ms Brown, 26, emphasized the importance of reaching for excellence in the students' endeavors at school, recounting the steps she engaged in to attain skills necessary to work with the Sustainability Office in Dayton. After her presentation, students, staff and guests went outdoors to view the EV Showcase coordinated by Rick Liston, our Dayton team EVA-OH leader. Displayed were the Audi eTron, Tesla X, Cadillac Lyriq, Volkswagen ID4 and the Rivian R1T. Alex Rolland. of Village Solar, brought his mobile Solar Array, towed by his Rivian R1T, to share with the students the benefits, advantages of solar energy, and the imperative necessity of not burning fossil fuels. His portable solar array was a first for students to view. Having the EVs and solar array aroused curiosity and added excitement to an intriguing Earth Day event for the students, staff and guests this year at Trotwood-Madison High School.

Event Description
This is our fifth annual Earth Day event at Trotwood-Madison High School. Each year, we present a guest speaker to address about 200 science students on the varied interests and occupations associated with improving, sustaining and preserving our planet. Our guest speakers have included a scholar, an entrepreneur, an electric vehicle president, an EV Cadillac designer. Education is key throughout all levels of experience especially our youth. After the guest speaker's presentation, students go outside and view several EVs parked, on campus, while enjoying a locally made popsicle from Sweet P's Handcrafted Ice Pops.
We believe in our students, assure them their contribution is valued, their intelligence is respected and their participation in society is needed. The differences we make today to improve society will show up in the future we have tomorrow. Electric Vehicles help lower carbon emissions sustained by gas/diesel vehicles while improving the levels of health in many underserved communities. Earth Day is every day. Drive Electric Dayton continues connecting with people to make a difference.
