Event Report

⚡ Drive Electric Earth Day Event – Briarcliff Manor Report

The Drive Electric Earth Day Event at the Law Memorial Pavilion in Briarcliff Manor brought together residents, EV owners, and local leadership for a strong showing of clean transportation in action.

The event featured 11 electric vehicles on display, along with 15+ additional supporters who brought their own EVs, further strengthening the real-world presence of electric vehicles on site.

🚗 Growing EV Adoption in the Village

Momentum is clearly building.

There are now over 365 registered electric vehicles within the village proper, signaling a meaningful shift toward electrification at the local level.

Even more telling, over 6 residents actively asked about electric vehicles during the event—an increase of four people compared to last year.

That kind of engagement matters. It shows curiosity is turning into intent.

Residents had the opportunity to:

  • Ask real owners about daily EV use
  • Learn about charging at home and in public
  • Understand cost savings and environmental benefits

🤝 Community Support Powered the Event

This wasn’t just a static display.

The 15+ EV supporters showed up to support and participate.

They:

  • Brought their own electric vehicles
  • Helped support the EV information at the cars parked in lot next to event which can be seen by eye at the Pavilion.

That peer-to-peer interaction is what makes these events work. People trust real owners.

⚡ Charging Expansion Meets Public Skepticism

Even with six new EV charging installations across Briarcliff Manor, public sentiment remains mixed.

Some residents voiced concerns about:

  • Loss of parking spaces
  • Chargers appearing underutilized at times
  • Fair access for all drivers

At the same time, the growing number of EVs—now 365+ in the village—underscores a clear need for infrastructure that supports continued adoption.

🏛️ Leadership Presence Matters

The event drew strong support from local and state officials, reinforcing the importance of electrification:

  • NY Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg
  • Town Supervisor of Ossining Elizabeth Feldman
  • Village Trustee Peter Chatzky
  • Village Manager Josh Ringel
  • Village Trustee Rhea Mallett a  Sustainability champion

Their attendance highlighted a unified commitment to sustainability and forward-thinking transportation policy.

🌎 Why This Event Matters

This wasn’t just a showcase—it was a signal.

  • EV adoption is accelerating locally
  • Infrastructure is being built in real time
  • Community engagement is increasing year-over-year

Most importantly, residents are seeing firsthand that electric vehicles are no longer the future—they’re already here.

⚡ The Green Living Guy Take

With 365+ EVs already registered in Briarcliff Manor, rising resident interest, and strong owner participation, the shift is happening in real time.

It’s no longer about if EV adoption will happen.

It’s about how fast infrastructure and public perception can catch up.

✅ Bottom Line

  • 11 EVs showcased
  • 15+ EV owners supported and brought vehicles
  • Supporters helped run the EV table
  • 365+ EVs registered in the village
  • 6 new chargers installed
  • Resident interest increased year-over-year (+4)
  • Strong leadership turnout

Briarcliff Manor is moving forward—even as the conversation continues.

Event Description

This April 26th, the community of Briarcliff Manor is charging forward toward a cleaner future. Drive Electric Briarcliff Manor Earth Day brings together neighbors, families, sustainability advocates, and electric vehicle owners for a hands-on, real-world look at the cars transforming transportation across America.

Drive Electric Earth Month is powered nationally by leaders such as Plug In America, Sierra Club, Drive Electric USA, and the Electric Vehicle Association, but locally, it’s about community. It’s about conversations in parking lots. It’s about neighbors asking real questions. And most importantly, it’s about seeing the future up close.

At this event, residents can explore fully electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids, and cutting-edge clean transportation technologies. Owners will be present to share honest experiences about range, charging at home, winter driving, maintenance costs, and long-term savings. There is no sales pitch. There is no pressure. There is simply information, access, and dialogue.

Transportation remains one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions in New York State. However, electric vehicles offer an immediate way to reduce tailpipe pollution, improve local air quality, and lower fuel costs. As our electric grid becomes cleaner each year, the climate benefits of EVs grow stronger. Therefore, switching to electric is not just a trend. It is a practical step toward resilience.

Drive Electric Briarcliff Manor Earth Day also highlights available federal and state incentives. Many residents do not realize they may qualify for substantial tax credits or rebates. Consequently, this event will help demystify the numbers. Attendees will learn how charging works at home, what public charging options exist nearby, and how EV ownership fits into everyday life.

Families are encouraged to attend. Students can see firsthand how science, engineering, and climate solutions intersect. Moreover, local sustainability groups and environmental leaders will be available to discuss broader clean energy initiatives, including solar power, battery storage, and grid modernization.

Importantly, this event is about optimism. It is about progress that feels tangible. When residents sit inside an EV, feel the instant torque, and experience the quiet ride, the future becomes real. Conversations shift from “if” to “when.” Questions become solutions.

Earth Day reminds us that protecting our planet begins locally. By hosting Drive Electric Briarcliff Manor Earth Day, the community demonstrates leadership, innovation, and a willingness to act. Each conversation matters. Each test drive matters. And each step toward electrification moves us closer to cleaner air, quieter streets, and a more sustainable tomorrow.

Join us this Earth Day. Ask questions. Explore the technology. Meet your neighbors. And discover why driving electric is no longer just an idea — it’s a movement gaining momentum right here in Briarcliff Manor.
