Event Report
As part of Whittier's annual family-friendly Earth Day event--expected to have drawn 2,000 attendees--we had a steady stream of visitors to our Drive Electric Earth Month table and EV display and noticed an unprecedented interest in EVs because of current high gas prices. Conversations among EV owners and attendees focused on this concern. We promoted used EVs as especially economical. We displayed a variety of all-electric, plug-in hybrid vehicles and e-bikes, although a large number of visitors, especially youths not even driving-age yet, were passionately interested in the electric red motorcycle on display. We thank Third Act SoCal for its co-sponsorship and its organizing and volunteer help, and SoCal Edison for providing our grant, which was particularly helpful for outreach and gift-card incentives.
