Event Report
On April 8, 2026, EFPP fellows Sanai Haymon-Jallow, Ayomide Isinkaye, and Ifedolapo Jojolola hosted the HTU Electrify Expo at Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas. The event was designed to advance two primary objectives: increasing awareness of electric and multimodal mobility options among the HTU student body and gathering community data in support of the fellows' capstone research through a Mini Landscape Assessment.
The expo featured a display of e-scooters, e-bikes, and other electric mobility options, giving attendees a hands-on look at the full spectrum of e-mobility available today. Fellows partnered with Austin Energy and CapMetro to provide additional context on the local clean transportation ecosystem, enriching the student experience beyond the vehicle display itself.
Attendees completed the Mini Landscape Assessment administered by the fellows, generating data on current student knowledge of and proximity to electric vehicles within the HTU community. These findings will directly inform the fellows' capstone research and contribute to a broader understanding of e-mobility access and awareness at HBCUs and HSIs.

Event Description
Join us from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on April 1, 2026 for an interactive Expo hosted by the E-Mobility Fellows at Huston-Tillotson University. This on-campus event will feature a display of electric vehicles, along with e-bikes, e-scooters, and other emerging electric mobility options shaping the future of transportation.
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to explore the vehicles up close, connect with HT student fellows, and engage with community partners such as Austin Energy and CapMetro. This is an opportunity to learn more about electric mobility, ask questions, and gain exposure to the growing clean transportation landscape.
Attendees will also be encouraged to complete a brief Mini Landscape Assessment to help us better understand current knowledge, perceptions, and experiences with electric vehicles. The insights gathered will directly inform the fellows’ capstone research and support future programming and mobility initiatives on campus.
Stop by during lunch to experience the future of transportation and be part of the conversation.
