Event Report
On April 26, 2026, the Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition (MC3) participated
in the 7th Annual Edina Earth Day Festival, hosted by the Morningside
Neighborhood Association in Edina. During the event, the MC3 engaged with
attendees to share information about electric vehicles, EV charging, and
electric landscape equipment, while answering questions and interacting with attendees
of all ages through trivia on electric vehicles with interactive education
learning tools. Many attendees were somewhat familiar with EV technology, with
several promoting ownership of PHEVs or full electric.
The festival featured a wide range of sustainability-focused
organizations, a collaborative Eco Passport activity for attendees to collect
stickers at each booth, and an electric vehicle showcase displaying models from
companies such as Rivian, Chevrolet, and Audi. The event also included live
music, local food vendors and small businesses, and prize drawings supported by
local partners. State legislator Julie Greene of Edina and Minnesota State
Representative Larry Kraft spoke on stage about the importance of
sustainability. Two student speakers also delivered speeches on sustainability
and were presented with a $2,400 donation from Cool Planet Skiers to the Edina
Education Fund to support environmental education initiatives in the community.
