Event Report

Our Electric Vehicle Showcase event at Earth Day Omaha (EDO) at Elmwood Park on Saturday, April 25th was met with nice weather. We had 10 plug-in electric vehicles plus one hybrid vehicle. All 11 vehicles were displayed by private owners. None of the local EV dealers were available to participate this year. It was fortunate we had some older EVs on display with their owners because many visitors asked about the affordability and wisdom of buying a used EV.

Overall attendance at Earth Day Omaha was less than last year. We had approximately 75 people visit our display site and information booth.

Our booth next to the EV display provided an excellent selection of handouts providing EV information.

One of our EV Team members, Bill Moore, Editor of EV World, was interviewed at our display site by WOWT Channel 6, and Bill and our display was featured on the evening news.

Here is a list of the Electric Vehicles at our Earth Day Omaha display:

2022 Chevrolet Bolt

2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid pickup

2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E

2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E (2 vehicles)

2024 Kia Niro Electric

2016 Nissan LEAF

2018 Nissan LEAF

2024 Tesla Cybertruck

2025 Tesla Model Y

2025 Volkswagen ID.BUZZ

This year the battery-electric Omaha Metro bus and Heartland B-Cycle electric bikes were displayed on the east side of the park freeing up space for our display parking lot.

Thanks to our EV Team volunteers who helped organize and supervise making it a very successful and educational event: Brenda Moskovitz, Anne Devries, Albert Lierz, Bill Moore, Louis Lester, Clyde Anderson and Don Preister.
