Event Report
On April 8, 2026, EFPP fellows Muhib Rahman and Reina Serrano hosted an electric vehicle event at the University of Illinois Chicago in partnership with EVHybridNoire. The event was designed to advance two primary objectives: increasing awareness of the E-Mobility Fellowship Pipeline Program among the UIC student body and gathering community data in support of the fellows' capstone research.
The event featured an impressive lineup of electric vehicles including a Lucid Air, a fully electric Ford E-Transit van from UIC, and an electric truck used for student lab work on campus, giving the approximately 100 attendees a firsthand look at the range and versatility of EVs available today. Fellows engaged students directly at the vehicles, facilitating conversations about clean transportation, career pathways in e-mobility, and the fellowship opportunity.
In addition to the vehicle showcase, EFPP Program Lead Ryan Jones visited the classroom of program advisor Dr. Unsal Ozdogru to present the fellowship to students directly, fielding questions and generating interest among prospective applicants. Fellows also administered their landscape assessment during the event, collecting responses that will inform their capstone findings on e-mobility awareness and access within the UIC community.
The combination of a vehicle showcase, classroom presentation, and peer-led engagement made the UIC event one of the more comprehensive fellow-led activations of the April cycle, reflecting the strong partnership between EFPP and the UIC campus community.

Event Description
Join the E-Mobility Fellows at the University of Illinois Chicago for an interactive event highlighting the future of electric transportation. This on-campus event will feature electric vehicles and other electric mobility technologies, giving students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to see EVs up close and learn more about how electric mobility is transforming transportation.
Attendees will be able to connect with UIC student fellows, ask questions about electric vehicles, and gain insight into the technologies and innovations shaping the future of mobility. The event will also highlight the growing importance of electric transportation in sustainability efforts and the expanding career opportunities across the e-mobility sector.
