Event Report

The Earth Day Every Day event is the largest Earth Day event in the City of Madison/Dane County community.  Wisconsin Clean Cities was able to join the event and added a transportation component via our Clean Cities information booth, Ride and Drive activities and tour of an Electric School Bus with the actual driver of the bus performing the tours.  This grew the Earth Day event into a Sustainability Fair and Electric Vehicle Show.  The event has traditionally been a series of booths staffed by various sustainability nonprofits, Utilities, government agencies and private sector sustainability firms such as solar providers.  The addition of Clean Cities added a transportation component that had been previously missing.  The weather was perfect, a sunny spring day about 65 degrees.

About 450 people, many of them families, participated in the ride and drive and sought information at our Clean Cities Booth.  A real hit was a list, comparing all the new electric cars available in the consumer market.  Many questions were asked about EV safety, pricing and questions related range.  We worked to bring the Middleton School District’s Electric School bus and driver to the event to explain to people the efficacy of their electric school bus and the direct experiences of operating this vehicle over the course of the last year.

While Clean Cities was able to add value to the event by adding transportation related components (Riden and Drive, Information Booth and Electric School Bus display and tours), Clean Cities also gained valuable relationships by jointly planning this event with the church community, Middleton School District and Bergstrom Cheverlot.  These new relationships are currently being leveraged as we plan a Career Fair at the Madison Area Technical College for Friday, November 6th.

Wisconsin Clean Cities was proud to be part of the Earth Day Every Day: Community Sustainability Fair & EV Show on April 25, 2026, connecting with community members and showcasing real-world solutions for a cleaner transportation future. From sharing information on alternative fuels to hosting hands-on ride & drive experience, our team helped attendees explore how advanced vehicle technologies can fit into their daily lives. Bergstrom Chevrolet of Madison and Bergstrom Cadillac of Madison brought six EV vehicles total, including Chevrolet and Cadillac models. Team members of Bergstrom Automotive dealerships were instrumental in helping facilitate the ride & drives and answering questions.
